ABOUT MY ARTWORK: I learned to draw in my 40’s. My first instrument was
the cheap black felt-nib pen. Later I graduated to dip pens with flexible steel
nibs, giving me a pressure-sentitive line. I began drawing cartoons, finding
them a wonderful way of exploring where words feared to go. I began colorizing
them. Then, about a decade and a half ago, I stopped drawing.
In 2012 I turned to watercolor painting. My wish is that my line drawing and
painting converge on a more painterly style of cartooning.
